On July 30, 2021, Mario “Chip” Alexander of Gambrills passed away peacefully at home. Devoted husband of 45 years to Judith Marie Alexander and former husband of Patricia “Pat” Alexander; beloved father of Julie Donaldson (husband Mike), Amy Quade (husband Mike), Lisa Jones (husband Lee), Nicholas Alexander, and Jessica Keicher (husband Evan); Cherished grandfather of Ashley Donaldson (partner Rosalyn Dupont), Kelsey Clark (husband Chris), Alexandra Kelly (husband Kevin), Makenzie Donaldson, Emily Quade (fiancé Max Borchardt), Aaron Quade, Caitlyn Quade, Daniel Jones, Ashton Hinebaugh, Owen Keicher, and Olivia Keicher; loving brother of Michael Alexander (wife Peggy); caring uncle of Scott and Elizabeth Alexander; great uncle to Gabe Alexander and Peyton and Reagan Schoch ; adoring great-grandfather of Kennedy Clark. He is also survived by his brother and sister in laws, John and Karen Schoch and Bob and Joan Schoch and his nephews Marty Schoch (wife Charlene), Ron Schoch (wife Jennifer), and Larry Schoch. He is predeceased by his birth father Mario Saracco, his adopted father Ronald Alexander, and his mother Billye (Drake) Alexander.
Born in Washington, D.C., Mario lived in New York for a short time as a child. He grew up in Adelphi/College Park, Maryland, and later moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where he lived for five years before eventually settling in the Odenton and Gambrills area. He worked in the food service industry for 40 years before retiring. Mario enjoyed playing tennis, NASCAR, and reading John Sandford novels. Most especially, he loved the time he spent in Ocean City with his family.
Immediately following the service there will be a gathering of food and fellowship at Amy's home and the family hopes you will be able to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis MD 21403. Thank you!
