John E. Pettebone

John E. Pettebone, age 71, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at his home in Odenton, Maryland.

Born on January 9, 1949 in Annapolis, MD, John grew up in the St. Margaret’s area. He was the son of the late John E. Pettebone and Elsie (nee Gyles) Pettebone.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Bonnie Pettebone; sister, Kathye Long (Gene) of Severna Park, MD; sister in law, Lynn Campbell (Richard) of Severn, MD; nephew, Jamie Campbell of Elkridge, MD and his loving and faithful  furry companions, Misty, a Pomeranian, Maddie Mae, a house cat and Hobbes, a Maine Coon cat.

John worked as a Comptroller for Motorola for more than 15 years in Maryland, Illinois, Texas and California. Upon returning to Maryland he worked for Howard County government as an independent contractor. Prior to his death he was the principal owner of JEP Bookkeeping & Tax Resource, LLC. Most recently he was an accountant contractor for ReefPoint Group in Annapolis.

John was also a talented wood and leather carver. His pieces were popular at craft shows across the state. He enjoyed dining out with his wife and served as a roadie and assistant with his wife’s jewelry business.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
