Arthur E. Bennanzar, Jr.

Arthur E. Bennanzar, Jr. a resident of Severn, MD passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Glen Burnie Health and Rehab Center in Glen Burnie, MD. He was 83.

Art is survived by his two daughters and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Elaine Bennanzar.

Art loved music all his life and he became an accomplished musician upon graduating from University of Maryland and Peabody Institute.  In the sixties, he played in several popular jazz bands. He taught music and band in many public high schools, leading them to winning multiple competitions. Upon retiring he taught private music lessons from his home studio and repaired string instruments in his violin repair shop.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 5 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite music program.
